ReStory repair guide
Put the device on the workbench mat, open the notebook, and follow its assembly list. ReStory jobs can request cleaning, repair, painting, and firmware updates; each service uses a different tool and must be completed before delivery.
Use the workbench and notebook
Interact with the blue mat to enter repair mode, then place a device or part on the mat. The notebook lists the components required to assemble that device and marks pieces missing from the mat, even when those pieces are still in the spare-parts box.
Disassemble in a controlled order and keep fasteners associated with the panel they secure. The current device catalogue records screw and part totals, but the notebook is the live authority for the job in front of you.
If you leave repair mode before finishing, the mat contents are packed into a box. Store that box and return it to the mat later to continue without mixing the repair with another device.
Complete the requested services
Cleaning requires disassembly and cleaning every dirty component with a brush or ultrasonic bath. Repair requires replacing all broken parts; some faulty electronic components must instead be fixed with the soldering iron.
Painting requires the airbrush and a paint set. Each paint set currently costs ¥7,000; a customer-specific request accepts colors from the requested set, while freestyle painting can use any owned set.
Firmware work requires an installed Unlock-Toolkit app. Place the fully assembled device on the mat, start the app, and complete its keyboard-timing sequence; the update does not trigger on a partly assembled device.
Buy parts and finish the job
Buy new components from Parts - Packuten, which filters its catalogue to licensed device types. Marketplace can provide second-hand devices and random-part boxes that may be dismantled for components, although those parts can require cleaning or soldering.
Before final assembly, compare the notebook list with the parts physically on the mat. Finish every service named in the order, then fully reassemble the device and exit repair mode.
A completed device can be delivered at the counter, sent to an online customer, kept in the shop, or sold when appropriate. For e-mail work, deliver within the three-day window to protect the shop rating.
